During Christmas time, our home is always open to friends and family, thus, it is quite important that we scent it with wonderful aromas especially during this time of the year. The beautiful aromas of cinnamon, orange and various spices should just do the trick… 

To bring that festive and wonderful aroma to your household, all you have to do is make your own potpourri mix. It is easy to make, inexpensive and you can even place it in cute packaging to give away to your friends and neighbors as a Christmas gimmick.

Follow the instructions below, have fun in the process and enjoy your creation!

To make your own Christmas Potpourri Mix, you will need: 

• one whole orange or just the orange peel
• 1/2 a cup of cranberries
• 1 tablespoon of whole cloves
• 3 sticks of cinnamon or a small handful of small pieces of cinnamon
• some grated nutmeg (optional)

Cut the orange into four pieces, place all of the ingredients into a saucepan and fill with water to cover them. Place on the stove on the smallest burner and at the lowest setting. Refill water as needed due to evaporation.
