We wandered in the center of Athens and gathered the best 5 spots where you can enjoy fragrant and quality coffee.

The Underdog

A new arrival in Thisio, The Underdog, housed in a beautiful neoclassical building at Iraklidon paved street, is a creation of Tasos Delichristos, an international coffee champion. The impressive space is separated into two levels, with industrial aesthetics, paintings in the walls and Star Wars referations. Different varieties of coffee from all corners of the world are roasted on site every two days. We picked the refreshing espresso n 'tonic, and the Kemgin coffee from Ethiopia, with wild strawberry flavor, dried blueberry and intense notes of chocolate mousse. Tailor Made

It opened in 2011 at the emerging, back then, St. Irene Square and thanks to its excellent coffee it immediately managed to gain many fans. It serves speciality / micro lot coffees, rare and vintage varieties from several producing countries (Brazil, Kenya, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ethiopia, etc.), with weekly changes. You will enjoy them freshly roasted, in an atmospheric place that is housed in Chiller’s neoclassical. It recently acquired a sister in Nea Smirni. Taf

A small temple of coffee in the center of Athens, from the experienced Yiannis Taloumis. The discerning coffee lovers will find rare varieties here (from Costa Rica, Panama, Puerto Rico, Ethiopia) and excellent quality espresso. Kaya

In a stoa of Syntagma square, Kaya makes one of the best-and the cheaper (0.80 cents) - espressos in town. The shop is tiny- without tables and chairs, just with a bench from where you can gaze at their baristas working their magic. The coffee is freshly ground for each customer individually. WareHouse

One of our new favorite all day spots in Exarchia, Warehouse is not only popular for its wine and cocktails, but for its speciality coffees as well. The blends come from the best varieties of Latin America and Africa and you can enjoy them there from the hands of the experienced baristas or take them out.
