Spetsathlon: The biggest triathlon in Greece returns to Spetses on May 13th
Spetsathlon, the biggest triathlon in Greece is coming to Spetses for 4th consecutive year! On the weekend of 13-15 May 2016, the beautiful island of Spetses will welcome the elite of the triathletes as well as the majority of the sport fans who are ready for the famous Spetsathlon.
On Saturday, May 14th, a unique 1000m Swimming Race will take place for the second time with amazing surprises from BIOTHERM, as well as the 3rd 25K Spetses Bike Race around the island, giving the opportunity to everyone, from those who wish to “train” for the triathlon but also for the non-triathletes, to test their abilities and take part in Spetsathlon because #2winis2participate.
Cyclists can see the course on Spetsathlon.com timed by our Timing Sponsor GARMIN Greece. The triathlon will take place on Sunday (15/5) with two races: Spetses Triathlon Sprint (750m swimming, 25k biking & 5k running) and the Olympic Spetses Triathlon Endurance (1500m swimming, 50k biking & 10k running). The two courses’ swimmers will be easily distinguished by the different color of the swimming caps provided by our Sponsor, DHL.
At the heart of the cultural and athletic initiatives in Spetses, Poseidonion Grand Hotel, the emblematic hotel of the island, supports the triathlon race, with the aim to the promotion and the development of the island, as Sotirios Anargiros, the founder of the hotel, had envisioned.
