Overlooking the sea, this renovated building complex dating from the 19th century is the perfect, romantic setting for getting to know the unique atmosphere of Laconian Mani.

Located in the traditional village of Gerolimenas, Kyrimai Hotel is a breath away from the sea, so much that when you go out in your balcony, you feel like you are at the bow of a ship. This building complex of 1870 has been completely refurbished by Kyrimis family, who were the owners since its birth.

With respect to the history of the building, they turned the old wine cellar with the impressive arch into a reception area while the old lumber yard houses exhibits of the past centuries.

Recently the hotel was awarded as the most "Romantic historic hotel in Europe" from the Historic Hotels of Europe 2017 awards.

Mr. Alexandros Kyrimis, owner of Kyrimai Hotel, speaks to Popaganda about Kyrimai Hotel, his home, as the family still calls the hotel.

Most of our guests come from the UK but we have several French, Italians and Americans.

Guests of Kyrimai are travelers who are not just interested in staying in a place with a special atmosphere, but they also want to get connected to the place, the history, the present, its cultural heritage, its gastronomy and architecture. Kyrimai is the starting point for the hip and conscious visitors of Mani.

It is the home of my family of my ancestors. It was created by my great-great grandfather and the area prospered, especially that period. The visitor is a guest in a very familiar place to us and this makes us treat it as something more than just a hotel. The customers feel that this is not an impressive but impersonal hotel but a cozy, big house.

Stavriani Zervakakou, coming from Mani, is our chef. She has worked for a decade at very high level restaurants in Istanbul. The kitchen of Mani is her inspiration, as well as the local products of the area.

Our award as Most Romantic Historic Hotel in Europe was a great pleasure for us. Here we do not only host romantic couples or couples on their honeymoon. Couples celebrating life anniversaries come here too. There are stories of people that made their marriage proposal here and have returned again and again with their children. Many of them do not want to leave the hotel and return home, they become attached with the people of Kyrimai and they show it. We connect with them too, the feelings are mutual and that is why there is Kyrimai Hotel".
