We went for a bar-crawl at the best bars in town…to joyful Cinco, the gorgeous 42 bar, to popular Tailor Made and, of course, to the very interesting Food Mafia!

There, we met 4 of the best bartenders in Athens who treated us with their top Christmas cocktail to put us even further into the festive spirit…

Bottoms up and Merry Christmas!

 

Yiannis Alexopoulos – Cinco bar

Cinco bar is one of our favorites in the area of Kolonaki, so we headed to Skoufa street for a date with "Miss Gingerbutt"!

Bartender Yiannis Alexopoulos uses Cachaca flavored with lemon and lime, pineapple, ginger, lime juice, gingerbread syrup, butter and cinnamon bitter and suggests a warm cocktail that is ideal for the cold winter nights.

 

Elias Marinakis - 42 bar

Gorgeous 42 bar is going to be open day and night for the holidays and suggests the interesting blazer cocktail "Merry go round" to keep us company and lift our Christmas spirit to unprecedented levels!

Elias’s cocktail is made using Pampero Aniversario rum, gingerbread syrup, Mozart Dark chocolate liquor, Bitter Truth spice liqueur, vanilla and clove syrup. To embellish the edge of the beautiful cocktail glass he will use ground walnuts with homemade candy! 

 

Theo Spyropoulos - Tailor Made bar

Tailor's Christmas special by Theo Spyropoulos is tailor-made to our tastes as its name implies, it is as delicious as its ingredients make it to be and festive enough to match its presentation! 

 

Bartender Theo uses Yamazaki 12 year old whiskey, chestnut cream, pomegranate and mandarin juice, absinthe bitter and rosemary. To finish off, he garnishes the cocktail glass with fresh rosemary, pomegranate beads and lots of icing sugar.

 

George Megalokonomos - Food Mafia bar

The "Grandfather's Treat" cocktail by George Megalokonomos was a true treat to us at bar-restaurant Food Mafia in the area of Glyfada. It totally warmed our hearts and put us in the right track to the holiday season. 

The cocktail is served in a beautiful mug and contains Zacapa 23, bitter cherry and vanilla, a bit of espresso coffee and a homemade syrup made with clove spice, molasses, cinnamon, pepper and ginger. The cream on top is flavored with banana and topped with dark chocolate flakes.
