Check out below the best of the Laconic Mani.

Areopoli: The star of the region

The most beautiful village of Mani, Areopoli is full of stone towers, colored wooden doors, lush courtyards and history, which is reflected in the small, private museum of War with the medals of the Greek Revolution of 1821, which started here on March 17.

Itilo: Autumn peace

Without special tourism development, with just a cafe and a tavern, Itilo will become your favorite "secret village", for walks in the quiet streets amongst cute homes and yards.

Gythio: Sea, mountain or both?

Impressive neoclassical buildings of the 19th century, amphitheatrically built on the slope of the green hill, that locals call Akoumaro, reflect their colors in the waters of the Laconian gulf and welcome us to the sea and the mainland ... Gythio. The heart of the town beats by the sea, where you can have ouzo and local delicacies, while the city itself is an ideal base for those who want to discover the middle “foot” of Peloponnese.

Diros caves: The ultimate naturalist must

The famous caves of Diros, famous for one of the most beautiful lake routes in the world, are definitely worth a visit. There you will enjoy a really exciting boat ride, which passes below impressive formations of stalactites and stalagmites and through eerie tunnels, which make the atmosphere at least dreamy.

Gerolimenas: Your distant base

Gerolimenas village proudly stands with Cavo Grosso, its impressive rock, and its natural harbor. It is perhaps one of the most unique options to stay and explore the wild beauty of the area. It is located approximately 100 kilometers from Kalamata, and is ideal for scenic walks in the alleys of the unique architecture of Mani towers.

Here you can experience the splendor of a lordly stay in the celebrity-hotel of the region Kyrimai Hotel. where history meets luxury: Towers with battlements, luxury suites, two-storey rooms with fireplaces, lofts with King Size beds, allow you to make your own journey through time, with all modern amenities. Alternatively, Epilekton restaurant is what you need for seafood delicacies and fresh fish.

Vathia: Simply magnificent

At an hour distance from Gerolimenas, Vathia is considered the most beautiful village in the region. Perched on a hilltop, as a castle fairytale, Vathia will offer you breathtaking unforgettable images: tall towers rising up to the sky, surrounded by low stone houses, overlook on one side the vast sea that touches the horizon and on the other the imposing peaks of Mani.

Tenaro: Life to its extreme

We could not leave out of the best of Mani, its southern edge, which also is the edge of continental Europe: Tenaro. The tour until the lighthouse is worth experiencing and it is about 40 minutes of easy walking.
