With over a century of life, the Rethymnon Carnival makes us return to Crete in the middle of winter to dance in the shadow of the Venetian Fortezza. On Clean Monday we visit the village of Caina of the Municipality of Apokoronas, where the Dionysian custom of "Kamila" revives. The "camel" takes a walk in the village until the central square. The feast continues until the evening accompanied with Cretan musical instruments.
