Enjoy Athens "White Night" with down-town shopping till 11 at night!
As part of the festivities planned by the municipality of Athens, inhabitants of the capital and tourists alike can thoroughly enjoy Athens “White Night” on Saturday the 28th of December 2013 and come down to the center of Athens where they can do their shopping till 11 at night!
The "White Night" hosted in the center of Athens, is organised just before the eve of the new year in order to revive the capital and increase the number of visitors down-town for more Christmas and New Year’s shopping. The Athens Traders Association urges the commercial shop owners to participate in the event and encourages consumers to benefit from the elongated store opening hours for more Christmas shopping at ease.
The mayor of Athens strongly supports "White Night" with a range of musical events to be held in Syntagma Square from 5:00 pm onwards.
More specifically:
17.00 Concert with tenors Duo Fina
20.00 Festive Concert by the Symphony Orchestra of Athens with tenors George Zografos, Dinos Kalivas and Manolis Lorentzos.
20.00 - 22.00 Stilt walkers gaming zone from the group Circus Dayz
The Museum of Folk Art and Tradition "Angela Hatzimichalis" (6, Angela Hatzimichalis street, Plaka quarter), the Numismatic Museum (10-12, Panepistiomiou street) and the Museum of Greek Folk Instruments (1-3, Diogenous street, Plaka quarter) will also participate at the "White Night" by elongating their opening hours until 11 at night.
