Owner of the wonderful Conte Marino Villas in Crete, Mrs. Despina Sivaropoulou shares her vision

Without the merest doubt, Conte Marino Villas in Chania of Crete is the hottest new entry in this year's tourist season. Three boutique villas distinguishable for their refined luxury, their privacy but also for their high aesthetics, the designer materials used and the decorative furniture which has been selected piece by piece by the owners Mr. Nikolaos Galanis and Mrs. Despina Sivaropoulou. Their aim was to present guests with the Cretan customs and traditions via cordial hospitality within a very luxurious residence. Mrs. Despina Sivaropoulou shares her vision with us.

What made you choose this particular area of Crete for the creation of Conte Marino Villas?

The creation of Conte Marino Villas was a life dream for us. Having lived in various European countries, our heart and mind always belonged to Chania and our village - Kontomari - which boasts a strategic location amidst spectacular nature and is a splendid location for the creation of a unique living space with ample privacy, luxury and style.

What was your vision?

Our vision is to attract people from around the world, of different cultures and bring them in contact with the Cretan way of life. We really wish our guests feel at home, they have a memorable and experiential stay with us so that they will return again and again. Very significant for us is the provision of high-end services that project the elements of the local culture and the Mediterranean diet.

Why should someone select to stay at Conte Marino Villas?

For its high aesthetics coexisting in harmony with the Cretan landscape. Tranquility, wellness and relaxation is greatly appreciated here. Conte Marino Villas praise quality architecture, furniture, materials, equipment, services. Last but not least for its unsurpassable hospitality.

Which is your favorite place at close proximity?

Certainly, the old town of Chania… For its picturesque streets, its colors, its cafes, its restaurants for a lovely dinner. A great place to be around the clock. As for beaches, I love Falassarna.

Name a must-live experience in the area.

A visit to the Old Town of Chania for a promenade and a dinner consisting of the local delicacies. Also, hiking within the unique Cretan nature and a guided boat tour for snorkeling and diving.

Which local dish should the visitor taste?

There are plenty of delicious suggestions. The traditional ‘kaltsounia’, the ‘kreatotourta’ meat pie, the Cretan salad, the kid casserole with herbs, all the snail dishes, the oven rooster with okra, the roasted lamb and the numerous fish dishes.
