Orabel Suites in Santorini features on Telegraph

"The romantic, adults-only Orabel Suites is an intimate getaway, which features bespoke and friendly service. It's set in a quiet stretch of valley, yet is walking distance from one of Santorini’s most-loved beaches." Following an invitation of Trésor Hotels & Resorts, Marissa Tejada, travel writer of Telegraph, enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel and wrote her review on Telegraph. Read it below:

Location 8/10

"The Orabel Suites is set on a small road in the village of Perivolos, fronting a peaceful patch of lush farmland with a distant view of the sea. A 10-minute walk down the road leads to a vibrant strip of beach bars and restaurants on a long pretty stretch of the black-sand Perivolos beach, popular for its summer amenities. The hotel is one mile (two kilometres) from Perissa Beach, six miles (10 kilometres) from Athinios Port, eight miles (13 kilometres) from Fira and 14 miles (22 kilometres) from Oia."

Style & character 9/10

The complex is an immaculate shock of white, with each space and suite styled in minimalist design, including subtle touches of painted wood, local stone and creative lighting. Altogether, the character of the venue is a fine mix of Santorini’s traditional architecture, including smooth curves and room arches, and contemporary art. The suites are set back form a scenic, whitewashed pool and bar. The property is enclosed behind private gates, offering a feeling of complete seclusion and peace. Small landscaped gardens, stone arches and peaceful common seating areas are set throughout the hotel.

Service & facilities 8/10

With just 11 suites, Orabel's staff focus on personalised attention. Service is available at the pool and pool bar. The concierge can arrange tours, in-room massages, car and motorbike rentals as well as sailing trips, horse riding excursions, helicopter transfers and airport/ferry transfers. There is strong Wi-Fi in each suite and free, on-site parking. Guests of the hotel also receive complimentary sunbeds on the beach (usually €50/£44 per day in high season) at two popular Perivolos beach clubs: 41 and Seaside by Notos.

Rooms 9/10

The 11 suites are split into four categories: Superior, Deluxe, Honeymoon and Master. All suite types feature private balconies that overlook the pool and rural surroundings. Each suite also has a private hot tub (indoor or outdoor, depending on the room), coffee and tea-making facilities, bathrobes, slippers and Azzaro toiletries. Bathrooms feature large stand-up showers, moulded in traditional, smooth-edged Cycladic style. The Deluxe Suite, Honeymoon Suite and two-bedroom Master Suite all have fully equipped kitchenettes.

Food & drink 8/10

Although Orabel does not serve dinner, the pool bar serves light snacks such as salads, toasted sandwiches, fruit salad, cheese plates and tortillas from noon until 11pm. Breakfast can be ordered at any time and can be delivered to the pool area or directly to the suite. The full spread includes fresh bread, savoury Greek pitas, cake, croissants, fresh fruit, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice as well as a hearty main breakfast dish (omelettes, crepes or pancakes). Requests can also be taken. Many of Orabel’s dishes are prepared with produce from the hotel’s own backyard vegetable garden, including tomatoes, cucumbers and aubergines. Marmalades are homemade by the family.
