‘Ladofanaro’ restaurant: Top choice for a traditional feast in Trikala town

Trikala is surrounded by the plain of Thessaly in what we consider heavenly nature and the homonymous town presents guests with multiple interesting attractions… This is why the region attracts us so much for a short autumn getaway! In addition, the imposing rocks of Meteora, the famous and picturesque villages of Pertouli and Elati, plus, the gorgeous Plastira Lake are at very close proximity!

Trikala is equally known for its delicious traditional cuisine. Within the town and at the old quarter of Manavika, the visitor will be spoilt for choice as far as very good tavernas and restaurants is concerned. The top choice for a traditional local feast is ‘Ladofanaro’ (corner of Ipsilantou & Kanigos, tel. 0030 24310-74610) – an exquisite traditional restaurant run by two brothers since 1997. One of the two owners is the chef preparing with great care all those delicious dishes that you simply will not know which ones to choose from! We tried some of those delightful dishes and we highly recommend the beef liver with fried onions, the fried pork cubes with feta cheese and the tenderloin cooked in delicious sauces and spices!

Extra info: For our accommodation in the region, we select to stay at the luxurious boutique hotel Ananti City Resort. This lovely boutique hotel cherishes a key location on a hillside at the outskirts of the town of Trikala which accords it with uninhibited and awesome views to the glorious plains of Thessaly. The resort stands out for its modern design, its subtly luxurious surroundings and the excellent services it provides.
