Braun Publishing has selected Papasotiriou Bookstore in Panepistimiou street, as one of the most pleasant spots where one can buy a book or, indeed, read one.
The actual list contains 50 suggestions on a world scale in total and it was even published as a book, titled “Bookshops: Long established and the most fashionable ones”.

The architect of this particular Greek bookshop, is named Manolis Kolokithas and this is what he had to say about the project:
"Τhe bookshop was designed :
- As a continuance to the City: The bookshop is interconnected to the building of the Athens National Library across the street, as well as, with the main building of the University of Athens and the Athens Academy.

- As a home : The wooden floors, the leather furniture, the lighting and the lampshades which are similar to what we have at our own home, create a cosy ambiance and a sense of privacy. And the appropriate surroundings where one can think in peace.
- As a point of inspiration : East & West, Ancient Greece, Renaissance and Modernity…this is where all of the above converse dialectically…”
