New Year's pie recipe by Stelios Parliaros

Last week of the year! Now it’s the perfect timing to prepare the New Year’s pie for 2017, a recipe by famous pastry chef Stelios Parliaros.

Materials for New Year’s pie by Stelios Parliaros 2017

- 600 g. almond powder

- 480 g. powdered sugar

- 280 g. egg whites

- 120 g. water with herbs

- 250 g. melted butter LURPAK

- 150 g. raising flour cake

- 150 g. dried fruits

- Icing sugar

Directions for New Year’s pie by Stelios Parliaros 2017

In a large bowl mix the almond powder, icing sugar and flour. Boil 200 grams. of water with cinnamon, star anise, cloves and nutmeg. Strain and take 120 gr. Add the flavored water, melted butter, egg and dried fruits. Mix well. In a round hoop with a diameter of 24 cm, prepare a bottom foil with the help of nonstick paper. Pour the mixture into the hoop and bake in a preheated oven at 160oC for 50-60 minutes. Allow to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
