Boating at a nearby paradise to Sifnos: Polyaigos

Boating at a nearby paradise to Sifnos: Polyaigos

We could only but smile when we saw the 10-meter long boat in front of us at the small dock of Platis Gialos. Our destination was Poliaigos at15 km southwest of Sifnos  - the largest uninhabited island in the Aegean Sea. How could we hide our excitement since we heard that Poliaigos is famed for its paradise-like beaches and azure waters?

Nothing compares to cruising the Greek seas by boat. You can feel the sea breeze and the caress of the sun on your face, gaze at the horizon while taking in the endless blue and long to reach your heavenly destination….

Polyaigos did not disappoint us in the least...The scenery is incredible - It's no surprise that the island belongs to Natura 2000 and it is a natural habitat for the Monachus-Monachus seals to lay their eggs.

The rocky coastline alternated with glorious intervals of sandy beaches where we made stops for diving and swimming in crystal clear waters. We started to head back to Sifnos early in the afternoon feeling tired but very excited. It was the perfect day. Possibly the best day of this summer!
