Rhodes is famous for its great cuisine, especially as regards to fresh fish and seafood dishes! The island is enriched every year with new restaurants, especially within the premises of various hotels. There are though, some restaurants in the beautiful Medieval Old Town of Rhodes that bear a long history and are worthy of your selection.


Alexis

One of the most historic taverns in the Old Town of Rhodes where countless of celebrities from Onassis and Callas, various Heads of states and all kinds of Greek artists have dined. The walls are decorated with numerous photographs that prove its legendary past. Book your table and feast in masterfully cooked fresh fish. Must try: the homemade salted fish and spaghetti with sea urchin. Open May to October.

Alexis 4 Seasons

Open all year round even when its ‘brother’ Alexis is shut. It serves gourmet dishes of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on fish and all of the specialties of Alexis too. Must try: the scallops and its sushi.

Dinoris

Tavern founded in 1967 with plenty of stories to narrate about its famous guests: David Niven, Telly Savalas, Elliott Gould, Roger Moore and many more. The tavern is highly appreciated for its seafood cuisine which gives an emphasis on scallops, shrimps from Symi, fish croquettes, stuffed calamari, smoked mackerel, sea urchin spaghetti and salad with sea shells. Save some room for one or two of the delicious selection of desserts!

Fotis Melathron

Housed in a stunning building it boasts a stone-paved atmospheric yard plus a multi-level space with three private rooms. Frequented by internationally known artists, sheikhs, prime ministers and other celebrities whose main aim was to taste its culinary creations. Must try: the fresh fish varieties, the sea urchin & fish roe pasta, the cuttlefish cooked in ink, the various risotti and the grilled eggplant salad with pine nuts which is simply irresistible.
