The best sunset

From the beautiful Panagia Gkremiotissa church, the most impressive of all 365 in the island. From here, the view to the Aegean is breathtaking. Do not miss it just before sunset, to watch the most warm sunrays fill the horizon.

At the alleys of Chora

Authentic and beautiful, with small shops, whitewashed alleys bustling with life, Chora is a charming mix of locals and travelers. Reach until Anixi square and walk among the 13 windmills.

Odysseas Elytis Theater

It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful theaters in the Mediterranean and one beloved spot of the island you should definitely visit at least once, especially in the afternoon, before sunset.

Giannis Gaitis & Gavriela Simosi Museum

From the day it was created, it has not operated not even for a day. However, it is one of the architectural and cultural masterpieces of Greece and the Mediterranean Sea.

Paliokastro

A piece of this Byzantine castle remains today literally on the edge of a towering cliff. This is one of the finest places in the Mediterranean to enjoy at dawn.

Skarkos archaeological site

An archaeological masterpiece, awarded for its exemplary restoration. Visit it to witness the culture that flourished on the island since the Cycladic years around 2800 BC.

Agia Irine

One of the largest churches of the island built on the edge of the harbor welcomes every visitor that arrives at the island.

Homer tomb

It may not impress you as an archaeological monument, but the location of Homer’s tomb  will enchant you.
